Hello! We are a group of three seniors at Valley Regional Highschool in Deep River Connecticut. While us three our leading the fundraising efforts we are always working with Richard Naggot, a veteran himself and a very active member in the community as well as a few members of the Valley administration. Hi, my name is Rinze Knoop. I am a senior at Valley Regional High School and a student in the International Baccalaureate program. I currently serve as the Vice President and Treasurer of the National Honor Society. This WWII memorial project is part of my IB CAS experience, and it immediately stood out to me as a meaningful way to give back. I wanted to pursue a project that would make a positive impact on the community and help preserve and honor the legacy of our fallen veterans.
Hi, my name is Patrick Finnegan. I’m 17 years old and a senior at Valley Regional High School, where I serve as class president and am a member of the National Honor Society. I come from a family of veterans, and I'm currently thinking about following in their footsteps by serving in the military. I wanted to participate in this project because it’s a meaningful way to honor not only the veterans in my own family but also the brave men from our community who sacrificed their lives in World War II.
Hi, my name is Gavin Abderhalden. I am a senior at Valley Regional high school who is a member of the National Honor Society. I am a soccer team captain and a member of the baseball team, and I plan on going to a four year university next year. I am doing this project as part of my senior capstone, and I saw it as a great opportunity to positively contribute to our small town community and to continue to honor our fallen WWII veterans through new trees that will be at valley for generations to come.
